Joan F. (O’Brien) LeBlanc LaValle of Watertown died peacefully at home on February 19th, 2026 at the age of 92. She was the wife of the late Robert A. LaValle, Sr. Joan loved to cook, go to the casino and early on her and her siblings and their spouse would get together to play cards once a month. She also liked going to Cape Cod and being with family. She was there for everyone and was a great person to be with.
Her children, grandchildren, and greatgrandchildren were her world; her nieces and nephews, especially Kay, Sazi, & Tom, were very special also, but she loved them all. Her cousin and friend Cissy whom she loved dearly. Her friends at the chapel at St. Patrick’s and many more.
She is survived by her children and stepchildren, Denise LeBlanc of Wilmington, Mark LeBlanc of Wilmington, John LeBlanc of Woburn, Lawrence LaValle of Oregon, & Susan Price of Virginia. Dear sister-in-law of Shiela Walsh.
She is predeceased by her stepsons Robert & Daniel LaValle. Her siblings Kay Robinson, Mary Rossi, Eileen Terrio, Therese Flaherty, Bob O’Brien, and Phil O’Brien.
Joan worked at M.I.T. for 35 years until her retirement, where she also had many fond memories and friends.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM in St. Luke Church, 132 Lexington St. Belmont on Thursday February 26, 2026. Relatives & friends kindly invited. Visiting hours will be held in the MacDonald Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home, 270 Main St. Watertown Wednesday from 4 to 7 PM.
